RE: GAS Prices!!! I sold my rig, my F-250 is next

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes we all have to make hard choices. I don't know the age of your children but we took a break from rving in the middle years because the kids were just too busy and no longer wanted to spend that much time alone with mom & dad. But they are all grown up & now we go camping together again (but this time we have separate campers).
Good luck to you and your family.

Congratulations. I know you are going to have a wonderful time. That Durango is a beautiful unit.

RE: 10 Minute Tech Fans, Help

Pearl threw in a set of bolt on handles when I bought my Roto Choks.
Same here!
Did you request them or did she just do it on her own? Thanks.

RE: Glacier bay

Are those who have had their Glacier Bays for a while still happy with them? I really did like the looks of them but the dealer we had viewed them at no longer carries them. Just wondering if there is a problem we need to know about??

RE: Dishes..I NEED HELP

Guess we're kinda triple loaded. Have the usual stock of paper plates, also the Correlle(sp). But we also have a nice assortment of Longerberger, particularly Coffee cups, baking dishes and soup/ice cream bowls. Having been spoiled at home with Longerberger, I see no need to alter my priorities when on the road, and my priority is GOOD coffee in MY CHOICE of cup.:)
Lee
Good choice!
I use the Longaberger melamine in mine and it works well but I have way too much of it. I'd have to feed a whole campground.
I have to second the problem with the Corelle. I've ended up with a sliver or two in my feet as well.

RE: Heartland trailer tires made by Mission

That is a shame. Don't they get paid for the warranty work rather they sold the unit or not?
. . . the most common one was they didn't sell us the rig. Heartland's excuse consistently has been they can't control their dealerships (If they don't have any clout with their dealers, who does??)
Both of those complaints are pretty common in the RV industry.
Most local dealers won't work on rigs bought locally at another dealership. If you were 1000 miles from home, it wouldn't have been a problem. What I did in that situation was find an RV repair shop that doesn't sell RV's, they only service them. I find I get better service there than anywhere else.
The manufacturer's don't have clout with the dealerships because they don't have the same supplier/seller relationship that auto dealers have with GM/Ford/Chrysler/... Where the auto industry provides training and other services to the dealers specific to the vehicles involved, the RV industry has no such perks for their dealers because most of the problems (your case is an exception) with an RV are the result of somebody else's product installed in your RV (Coleman A/C, Suburban furnace, Atwood water heater, . . . )

RE: Heartland Rep

Did he have a good reason why his product has a chip-board floor? Was it because it’s cheaper than plywood or was it because they can build them faster?
I don’t want to run down the product, I actually think that they are very nice fifths. I just really hate OSB and I know that it should never be used in the floor of a trailer.
Thank you. That is just the kind of thing I need brought to my attention. I don't want to run them down either. I just want to get the best trailer for the money & its a jungle out there:h
I also appreciate those of you that have been well pleased with yours.

Heartland Rep

We spent quite a bit of time yesterday with a Heartland rep telling us why his Big Country was better made than other brands. Can or will any of you give me your assessment? Thank you.

RE: Durango LE vs Cardinal LE

I think my husband is a little leary of the 4 slides on the Durango thinking it may not be able to be parked at some of our favorite spots which are heavily wooded. He really prefers the state park type spot rather than the more civilized spots. Since he does all the driving & parking, he may overrule my love for all that floor space.
